Events at Leeds, Warwick and York Universities

Mandy_children_1_1.jpgFriends of Antara UK offers 10-15 volunteer placements and upto four medical electives with our partner organisation in India (Antara) each year. Applications are open to all though we particularly encourage students of healthcare, psychology, social work or those already working in relevant fields. Placements provide opportunities for:

  • General volunteer work, supporting patients in inpatient, outpatient, community and rehabilitation settings.
  • Developing clinical skills, experience or knowledge in a new context.
  • Assisting Friends of Antara UK and Antara to develop new facilities and services in specific projects.

Leeds

  • Mon 27th October: Volunteer Information Talk 2008, Leeds University, 4.30pm, Leeds University Union, Conference Hall, ARC (upstairs) (see here for more details)

York

  • Sat 18th October: Stall at YUSU fair, Physics Exhibition Hall, York University, 10am-4pm.
  • Thurs 30th October: Volunteer Information Talk 2008, York University, 17:30 - 19:30, V/045 Vanbrugh College (see here for more details)
  • Thurs 20th November: Volunteer Fair, York University, 11am - 4pm, venue TBC.

Warwick

  • Mon 27th Oct: Volunteer Information Talk 2008, Warwick Medical School, 6-8pm, Medical School Lecture Theatre, as part of  "International Evening" (see here for more details)
